Setting In a different plane of existence, lies the Smash Realm, a world which is inhabited by characters from video games. the world is comprised of four different land masses each ruled over by a single kingdom, The Smash Realm is governed by the Hands, Master Hand and Crazy Hand; together they keep the balance of good and evil of the Smash Realm in order. The Hands also run the Smash Tournament. Chapter 1: Lost in Darkness After the fall of Galeem and Darkhon; residents of the Smash Realm enjoyed many years of peace and normalcy, until recently. Shadowy lifeforms of unknown origin have begun to pop up across the world, terrorizing people and wildlife. with those entities, come reports of people going missing. Eight of the Smash Realm's finest heroes are sent on a surprise mission by the Council to track down and destroy a shadow monster terrorizing a small village. After freeing a Waddle-Dee from shadow vines, Mario is ambushed by a shadow monster taking on the form of Luigi, and has his spirit stolen from him in the ensuing struggle, leaving him as a motionless statue. The Smash Realm is shaken by the news of Mario’s demise; people mourn over the lost of the realm’s most iconic hero. It was a week after the incident when Captain Falcon visits an altar on the outskirts of Midair. a nun from a nearby Mii village approaches him and asks him to pray for Mario’s spirit at the altar with her, Captain Falcon obliges. During the prayer session, Captain Falcon suddenly has a vision of various characters, including Simon Belmont, Mega Man, Ness and Mario entangled in dark, thorny vines. Captain Falcon, shaken by the vision he just had, notices that the nun is trembling, she had a vision too, of her son entangled in the same dark vines. Chapter 2: Unshackled
