Domain

Domains, also referred to as Spiritus Domains for the sake of clarity, are virtual pocket dimensions thought to be created by the collective thoughts and dreams of mortal humans and Spiritus.

Domains are described as existing "in the space between websites" and are poorly understood due to them operating on both computer logic and dream logic.

Entrances to these Domains can be found in the form of Dive-In Points (DIPs). DIPs often appear as unusual-looking web pages or as "glitches" in reality. Once inside the Domain, it is extremely difficult or downright impossible to get out of without the help of a Spiritus. Most people are unable to escape, and often fall victim to hostile Spiritus or die and become Spiritus themselves.

There is no known limit to what a Domain can look like, what can be in a Domain, or how big/small it can be. It is up to the whims of the human/Spiritus that created it.

Coverup

Starting in 2016, A YouTube channel named "MATH-EEW'S CHANNEL" posted multiple videos detailing "alternate dimensions" and how to get to them. These videos got upwards of 1 to 3 million views each. The identiy of the individual who posted these videos is currently unknown, but there is a theory that it was a Spiritus trying to lurn in ususpecting prey.

The then newly-formed Whitewoods, fearing that these videos would lead to an increase of people unknowingly getting stuck in Domains without means of escape, created Operation Oshkosh in order to counteract the spread of information. This operation lead to the creation of the original "Backrooms" 4chan post on May 13th 2019, which has since spawned multiple fan animations, fan wikis and most recently, a a feature-length film. Operation Oshkosh had successfully obfuscated any real information about Spiritus Domains, though there is a fear that some Spiritus may start using Backrooms-themed content to lure in humans.
