After Ken Bourreau, the former lead singer of the disgraced emo band The Dead and Buried, discovers the truth of what really happened to his girlfriend, Kate Novo, he finds himself teaming up with Spiritus, human souls that have taken on digital forms, and joining a clandestine global uprising against the largest tech company in the world and its CEO, who wants to enslave humanity with AI.

Pactmakers:

Ken Bourreau ......... Former lead singer of defunct emo band TDaB and a former Amico employee of 10 years. After learning the actual cause of Kate Novo's death, he became a Pactmaker and vows to take down Amico by any means necessary.
Kate Novo ......... Core Spiritus/girlfriend of Ken Bourreau. After being kidnapped and killed by Amico for helping write an exposé on the company, she was reborn as the Sea Angel Reverent. She has joined forces with Ken so they can both enact their revenge on the company that took everything from them.
León Bourreau ......... Younger brother of Ken Bourreau. Former member of the defunct boy band Lonely Rock.
Maria Keene ......... American indie game developer who is as sweet as sugar. Founder and Leader of the All-Stars.
Tatsuya Den ......... Aspiring actor and YouTuber from Japan. Member of the All-Stars.
Shouying Huang ......... Chinese athletic prodigy with dreams of winning Olympic gold. Member of the All-Stars.
Michael Walker ......... British marathon runner with an interest in ancient languages. Member of the All-Stars.
SKD ......... Mysterious netdweller who claims to be a time traveler from the year 2077. Claims credit for stopping the Y2K crisis before it could happen.
McCarty 3000 ......... Amico-made robot possessed by the restless spirit of a warehouse employee who died in a preventable accident. Unhealthily obsessed with the famous outlaw Billy the Kid.
Kennedy Roberts ......... An electrician currently living in rural Florida. He became a Pactmaker after being sent to a haunted house to repair a circit breaker, where he met his Core Spiritus Plasmawulf.

Non-Pactmakers:

Damion Rex ......... Founder/CEO of Amico, the largest tech conglomerate in the world. Hides his utter contempt for humanity behind hollow philanthropy. His ultimate goal is to gain complete and total control of the world, and will do just about anything to achive this.

Whitewoods:

Whitewoods is a clandestine global organization initially founded as a UK-based white-hat hacking group in 2011 by Martyn Birch, now known as Yggdrasil. Nowadays, they are no longer public-facing, having publicly "broken up" in 2016. They now combat governments, corporations and individuals that they believe threaten threaten humanity.

Yggdrasil ......... Founder of Whitewoods. Founded Whitewoods initially to combat black-hat hackers and repair the damage they cause, but having a Spiritus sicced on him by a child pornographer was what caused him to shift the group's focus. Physically and mentally scarred by years of vicious spiritual combat.
Dignitas ......... Yggdrasil's Lieutenant and father of Maria Keene. One of the first Pactmakers to earn the title of Necromaster.
Oculus ......... The Head Spymistress of Whitewoods. Master of espionage and interrogation. Can make anyone fall to their knees and submit to her.
Mach ......... The Head Security Developer of Whitewoods. Autistic wheelchair-bound math prodigy with an interest in chaos theory and robotics.
Garou ......... The Head Security Admin of Whitewoods. Highly intelligent and eccentric in equal measure.
Pax ......... Head Researcher of Whitewoods. A reporter for Al Jazeera who stumbled into a Domain by accident. Wants to use the power of Spiritus to protect the Earth's ecosystems and save endangered species.
Morpho ......... Head Medical Officer of Whitewoods. A registered nurse by day. Her main specialty is treating illnesses and injuries caused by Spiritus. Proud pegasister.
Arkheion ......... Head Archivist of Whitewoods and the newest member of the High Order. She manages Whitewoods' records. Her personal library holds over 19,000 books and counting. She is interested in Oculus.
Seraph ......... Head Exorcist of Whitewoods. Being chewed up and spat out by the K-Pop industry led her to seek sanctuary in religion. She began to obsessively study theology and this study is what led her to learning to preform real exorcisms and meeting her current Core Spiritus.
Dingbat ......... Head Tactician of the 13th Squadron. His ability to come up with foolproof plans in very little time has been described as "frightening". He worked for Amico at one point, but was fired for a reason he does not wish to reveal. Claims to be better at lying than Dignitas.
Caminus ......... Head Engineer of the 13th Squadron and Shibuya-based alternative fashion designer by day. Oversees the creation of the Chaos Units and 13th Squadron's weaponry. After having all of their bones shattered in a struggle with a Rogue Pactmaker, they had their original skeleton replaced with a bionic endoskeleton. Can lift up and carry a pickup truck with minimal effort.
Fearnaught ......... Head Commander of the 13th Squadron. Caminus and Dingbat's superior. Skilled in almost all forms of physical combat and is one of the most feared people in the Pactmaking world.
Floris ......... The former Head Security Admin of Whitewoods. Helped create the majority of Whitewood's advanced tech. Was killed under mysterious circumstances. Whereabouts unknown.

Reverent:

Ted E. Baehr ......... Professional breakdancer who was killed by a rival at the peak of his career and was reborn as the Taxidermy Reverent.
Butch Willson ......... UKSF Member who died alongside his wife at the hands of a Rogue Pactmaker. He was reborn as the Cleaver Reverent and has sworn to wipe every last Pactmaker off the face of the Earth.
Sebastian Gray ......... A high school-aged fry cook who was beaten to death by his father. Reborn as the Superhero Reverent.
Cassidy Clark ......... A vigilante wannabe superhero who was shot and killed by robbers he was trying to stop. Reborn as the Green-banded Reverent.

GLOSSARY:

Domain: Virtual pocket dimensions thought to be created by the collective thoughts and dreams of mortal humans and Spiritus. Said to exist in the space between websites.

Digitum: Term used to refer to any digital entities on the internet that are not Spiritus or Reverent. Digitums are not created when people die, instead being created through various means, some unknown to science.

Spiritus: Digital/supernatural entities created when a human soul travels into the internet and transforms.

Core Spiritus: The Spiritus a Pactmaker has the strongest bond with.

Netdweller: One who lives in or has permenant residence within a Domain instead of in real life.

Necromaster: A title reserved for elite Pactmakers. Ones that have made pacts with over 100 Spiritus, are able to effectivly utilize those Spiritus in battle and are skilled with using multiple Spiritus weapons at once.

Pactmaker: Any living human who has made a pact with at least one Spiritus.

Reverent: A rare sub-species of Spiritus created when a human dies a tragic, wrongful death at the hands of another person or group of people.
