Bio

"I'll set things right. Just for you."

Ken Bourreau was born on New Year's Day 1983 to Isabela Sánchez and Jack Bourreau in Buffalo, New York. Growing up, Ken was described as being highly intelligent and creative, being on the honor roll by the time he graduated high school. He also had a passion for making music, making his first song when he was just 11.

In 1994, Ken's younger brother, León Bourreau, was born. He also started his first year of middle school. it was here where he formed a close relationship with fellow classmate Kate Novo.

In 2002, Ken began to attend Cornell University, graduating in 2006 with degrees in Music Theory and Computer Science.

Also in 2006, after 12 years of being together, Ken and Kate split apart for various reasons, mostly personal ones. The breakup emotionaly shattered Ken and he used singing and songwriting to cope with the loss.

In the late 2000s, Ken was the lead singer and frontman of The Dead and Buried, a once popular and beloved emo band that formed in 2007. The band unceremoniously broke up in 2013 due to a highly publicized controversy regarding two of the bandmates, causing a mortified Ken to distance himself from the band and eventually vanish from the public eye.

After moving to California and bouncing from job to job, Ken was hired as a senior developer at Amico, the largest tech conglomerate in the world. Ken quickly grew to hate his job's cult-like work enviroment, but couldn't quit due to pressure from higher-ups and because quitting would've put him in financial jeopardy.

In 2024, a wave of lay-offs at Amico stripped Ken of his job and forced him to move back to his birthplace of Buffalo, New York. It was here where he reunited with his brother and with Kate Novo, who had just moved back to New York a month prior. In order to stay afloat, Ken moved into a condo and acquired a job as a music teacher at the Buffalo Academy for Visual and Performing Arts.

Some months later, in August of 2025, Kate suddenly "died" in a car accident, leaving a distraught Ken to attend her funeral. Afterwards, increasingly strange and terrifying things would begin to occur at Ken's condo. It started with electronics turning on by themselves and escalated to hearing whispering in his ear while trying to sleep. It all came to a head when Ken was pulling an all-nighter. He heard a noise behind him and turned around to see a naked Kate standing motionlessly behind him.

Kate revealed that the car crash was really a cover-up for her real death: being experimented on and killed by Amico for outlining the dangers of Amico Amy. On top of that, her fate was suffered by hundreds of other people who dared to speak up against the company and their products. This revelation floored Ken, and he immediately accepted Kate's offer.

Together, they must fight against Amico's growing stranglehold on the internet... and perhaps save humanity from a bigger threat...?
