"I feel like I was destined to be a Pactmaker."

Dignitas (real name Kevin Keene, civilian screen name Captain N) is a member of the Whitewoods High Order. He acts as Yggdrasil's right-hand man and is one of the oldest living Pactmakers. He is also the father of fellow Pactmaker Maria Keene and the webmaster of the Nintendo fansite Videoland.

Kevin Keene had his first paranormal encounter when he was just 16. While on a school trip to the United Kingdom, he saw a ghostly girl floating in the water under the Ironbridge Gorge. He was the only one who saw her and she vanished just as quickly as she appeared.

Years passed. In 1994, Kevin, operating under the screen name, Captain N, launched a site named Videoland, which was dedicated to his love of classic Nintendo games.

Later that year, Kevin would meet the ghost girl again. He can't recall how exactly it happened, but one moment he was playing a video game late at night, and the next moment, he was in a unfamiliar world crawling with doll-faced creatures and talking animals. It was here where he came face to face with Launa, who had now become a Fairy/Witch-race Spiritus with a threat level of Peta.

Launa explained that both her domain and the town of Northridge was under attack by The Brain, a hostile Spiritus that planned on causing a mass casualty event in that town after taking over Launa's Domain and killing all of the Spiritus currently residing in it. Kevin quickly formed a pact with her and immediately headed over to The Brain's Domain.

After 11 hours of rigorous combat, nearly losing his life multiple times, Kevin and Launa were finally able to defeat The Brain and Kevin was allowed to go back to his (formerly) normal life.

Using his newfound abilities, Kevin would silently protect people from any Spiritus that threatened them and made new Spiritus pacts in the process. During the rise of organized pactmaking, he became one of the first people to gain the the title of Necromaster, a title held only by experienced Pactmakers.

In 2002, he would leave the Pactmaking world behind to focus on his recent move to Massachusetts for work, his webmaster duties, and his marriage to Carmen D'Franco. In 2004, Kevin and Carmen welcomed their daughter Maria Keene into the world, but shortly after the birth of their child, Camern and Kevin divorced.

For a while, Kevin closely monitored Maria's Internet activity, out of fear that a hostile Spiritus would harm them. But in 2009, Maria was nearly killed in a building collapse caused by a Spiritus that he wasn't there to prevent. There were 50 casualties.

Wracked with guilt for not being able to protect his daughter or those who died that day, he swore to protect the innocent from any Spiritus that wished to harm them. He restarted his Pactmaking activity the following week, combating hostile Spiritus in the Worcester County area under the cover of night.

He became a member of the High Order shortly after Whitewoods, which was once a public-facing hacktivist group, publicly "broke up" in 2016. He was given the codename "Dignitas".

In 2020, Maria came into contact with a Spiritus and became a Pactmaker. Maria does not know that her father is a Pactmaker and vice versa. But keeping a double life a secret is hard. It's only a matter of time until one, or both of them, reveal the truth to each other. On accident or otherwise.

Dignitas is noted as having a rapturous enjoyment of retro gaming and often makes dated one-liners when dispatching enemies. His peers chide him for this.

He goes out of his way to protect the weak and the helpless, often risking his life doing so. He is also very skilled with firearms.

Trivia

• Kevin owns one of every Nintendo console and a PS2, which was a hand-me-down from a friend. He also owns over 600 video games and all 285 issues of Nintendo Power
• His favorite video game of all time is Mike Tyson's Punch-Out!! for the NES.
• Kevin is good at telling white lies. Kevin tends to spend long stretches of time inside the Internet fighting Spiritus for hours or days at a time. He always excuses these random dissapearances with a lie he made up on the spot and people belive him every time.
• Kevin likes rock climbing and pickleball.
• At one point, Kevin had a pet dog named Duke.
