Reverent
The Reverent are a rare sub-species of Spiritus created when a human dies a wrongful death at the hands of another person or group of people. The intense hatred or anguish they feel in their final moments seeps into their soul and, fueled with a thirst for vengeance, they come back to life as a Reverent.
Reverent have existed for almost as long Spiritus have, since the dawn of humanity. Tales of man-eating ghouls and revenge-seeking spirits throughout human history are believed by parapsychologists to really be describing Reverent.
Reverent do not have Weapon Forms like regular Spiritus. Instead they have a Human Form and a Spiritus Form.
In Human Form. Reverent look almost exactly like their human selves before they died, but can only maintain this apperance for up to 12 hours at a time. If they use up those 12 hours, they turn back into Spiritus Form and lose the ability to turn into a human for an entire 24-hour day. Reverent in Human Form are immune to anything that could kill a regular human except other Spiritus and Reverent.
In Spiritus Form, Reverent have all the regular abilities and quirks of an average Spiritus and then some. To make up for the lack of Weapon Form, Reverent can shapeshift. Changing any part of their body to fit the situation. As with the immunities, Reverent can shift into more things by eating more Spiritus and Reverent.
Like all regular Spiritus, all Reverent start out at Mega-level. By devouring the souls of humans, Spiritus or other Reverent, they can partialy absorb their abilities and become stronger, increasing their Threat Level.
Pactmakers can form pacts with Reverent like any other Spiritus. Some Reverent are even able to form pacts with other Spiritus and become Pactmakers.
Burst Reverent
Whitewoods developed an experimental technology that allows living humans to temporarily become Reverent by momentarily stopping the heart and injecting the soul with extreme emotions. Due to the unstable and potentially dangerous nature of Burst Reverent technology, only high ranking members of Whitewoods have access to it.
